The red devils

The red devils

hello followers!

Today, i'm going to tell you something more about our Belgium national football team.
A few years ago, Belgium wasn't a very good football team, but nowadays they play very well and they will play in the World cup in Brazil in 2014.

Belgium played its first official game in 1904, they were attended by 1500 spectators. Only two years after its formal birth, the team was nicknamed 'the red devils'. A few years later, they won 2 important games against France and the Netherlands.
Belgium's most successful period started when they finished second in the UEFA 1980 under the lead of Guy Thys, who coached more than 100 official games. All that time, Belgium qualified for every FIFA World Cup. The team's rigorous organization was reinforced by several world-class players such as; Jean-Marie Pfaff, Michel Preud'homme, Eric Gerets, Jan Ceulemans, Enzo Scifo, Luc Nilis...

Without any doubt, the most beautiful moment for the Red Devils and their fans was in the summer of 1968, they became fourth at the World Cup in Mexico. The supporters of the Red Devils have not earned themselves a nickname yet. But, recently in 2012 the fans joined their forces by joining the local fan clubs into one large Belgian supporters' federation.

Nowadays, during the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil the bound with the supporters was further strengthened by means of great action, the so-called 'Devil Challenges. For their seventh and last challenge, about 1500 fans at the national airport tarmac wished the players good luck before their take-off towards the penultimate qualifier in Croatia.

In the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup, Belgium was one of the six teams in UEFA Group A. They were first in their group, so they were qualified directly for the World Cup in Brazil.

My favorite football team

Hello followers!

Hey, In this blog I'm going to tell you something more about my favorite football team; RSC Anderlecht. I'm a fan of Anderlecht since I was a little boy. My dad, my uncles, my nephews are also for RSCA.
Most of my friends are supporting Club Brugge or Standard, but I don't care, I love to be a fan of Anderlecht anyway.
Once a month I go to a game, but most of the time when I visit a game they lose, except last time against Zulte Waregem, they didn't. They won the title that match!

Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht is a Belgian professional football club. They play in the Belgian Pro League and is, for me the most successful Belgian Football team. They won 32 championships and 9 Belgian cups. They hold the record of the most consecutive Belgian championship titles, as they are only side to have 5 consecutive Belgian championships between 1963 and 1968

Last year they won their 32th title in the Jupiler Pro League. I was there too. It was a great party with champagne and firework. After the game, the players went outside to greet and party with the supporters. This 32nd title was a very special one for the club, because it was the last game against Zulte Waregem, 'the match of the year'. The winner of that game became champion, and we won!

For me, it was a game to remember!

My injury

Hello followers!

I have some bad news.
4 months ago, we started the preparation of our competition. In the first match I immediately had an injury. after a few days I went to the doctor and he said I had to go to the specialist. He took a scan to see if there was something to my heel. The specialist didn't found anything remarkable , so I just went training. A few days later I went to the hospital to take a bone scan. The surgeon said I had Os Trigonum. This means that a bone in my heel is broken. I had to take anti-inflammatories, but it still hurt. So, the surgeon said I needed an operation to take away the bone. They had to make 2 holes in my foot. We are 7 weeks later now and my foot still hurt. Hopefully I can be on the pitch very soon !

The rehabilitation goes smoothly, luckily my dad is a physiotherapist so he can give me all I want.

My idol

Hello followers !

Today i'm going to tell you guys something more about my favorite football player.

Marcin Wasilewski.

Marcin Wasilewski, commonly known as Wasyl is a Polish defender currently playing for Leicester City and the Poland national football team. He previously played for R.S.C. Anderlecht.

Early in his career he played for Polish clubs: Hutnik Kraków, Slask Wroclaw and Wisla Plock. In 2005, he moved to Amica Wronki which merged with Lech Poznan in 2006. In January 2007 he was acquired by the Belgian team Anderlecht. Wasyl is a right back (just like me). Despite being a defensive player, Wasilewski often scores goals. During the 2008-2009 season, he was Anderlecht's third most goalscorer with 8 goals.

On 30 August 2009, Wasyl suffered an open leg fracture when Axel Witsel made a challenge. Wasyl underwent corrective surgery. After a long rehabilitation, Wasilewski made his return on 8 may 2010. He celebrated his return with the opening goal against SV Zulte Waregem.

Unfortunately, he could never play for Anderlecht at top level. The club was forced to fire him. For Wasyl it was a very hard and difficult time, but also for the fans. He was a crowd favorite among the supporters of Anderlecht. His departure was also a very emotional experience.

Wasilewski is my idol because he's the example of a hard-nose defender at top level who occasionally scores a goal. He left RSCA, but he is and remains my idol.

Cheers!

Little boy with a dream

Hello followers!

In my blogs, i'm going to tell you guys something more about my favorite sport; soccer. When I was a little kid, I dreamed a lot about being a big football player. So I started my career at KSV Rumbeke.
I was lucky because we (our friends) all played together in the same team.
After a few years we won our first title. We were the first of the competition with a very good group and a trainer called 'Mark'. At the age of 15 and 16 we won two times the title with trainer Gino. After that year the staff decided 3/4 of our team would go to 2nd team. We were young and very excited to play against players who were a few years older.

Nobody believed in our team because we were too young, But we showed them we can stand our ground and fight against the older players in our competition. At the end of the competition we were on the fifth place. The next year (with the same team) we ended on the third place. Now it's our third year in the second team and we are top of league.

I had the time of my life at this club, but now at the age of 19, I have to decide which way to go. I stay in Ghent so I only train once. It's difficult to play for the first team if you only train once a week. So I think next year I'll leave the club and pick out another one to earn some money. Because now, we don't make a lot of money.

I hope you enjoyed my first blog about my favorite sport.

Cheers!
